Free Range BJJ is your non-localised Jiu-Jitsu club. We collaborate with teachers from an array of fields to create holistic events and learning opportunities that upgrade our Jiu Jitsu skills, but also help us to grow on and off the mats.

Rather than a brick and mortar gym, Free Range represents a community of grapplers who also have an interest in using Jiu Jitsu as a process for learning about ourselves, so that we can have a positive impact in our community and the world, and have a laugh along the way.

  • Events

    We run some rad events, where we connect students with experienced and inspiring Jiu Jitsu coaches, as well as teachers across other disciplines such as yoga, meditation, additional grappling arts, sports science, wellness, and longevity.

  • Coaching

    Acting as a second coach to help you set goals, remain accountable, offer personalised training advice and technical guidance to help you progress, achieve your goals, and take ownership over your BJJ learning. Coaching available in person and online.

  • Workshops

    Interested in a Jiu-Jitsu or Self Defence program for your workplace, school, sports group, community group, or at your event? We’ve coached to all kinds of groups and can provide specialised one off workshops or programs for your group.

Who’s behind Free Range?

Founded by Alex Scott and Anna FitzGerald who after a decade of running an Academy in Sydney, Australia, had the desire to take the lessons of their BJJ, Yoga, and Meditation practices off the mat and into the world.

Uniting their love of training and teaching with their love for traveling, meeting new people, and contributing back into the community in a new and different way.

What inspires us?

We like to think that all of us can positively impact the world by first of all understanding and finding peace within ourselves.

BJJ and Yoga can be life changing practices, providing the training ground for developing that self knowledge we need to live a happy and fulfilled life, prepared to meet any challenge.

We welcome you to share in our journey and mission to change the world through the mindful practice of BJJ and Yoga, and to spread the joy of life lived positively and with purpose.
